We have so much that we want to update you on and so many pictures that we want to show you but, unfortunetly, our internet is down due to some virus so it will be a while till we can get the pictures posted. So I am just going to quickly update you on the happenings of this week and then when our internet is up and running (hopefully sometime this next week), I'll post more pictures.

Our week started with orientation and was followed by the beginnings of what will be our jobs when work crews are not here. For Mike that involves maintanence, repair and upkeep of the camp. For me (Megin) that involves accounting and organizational stuff. So Mike dove in head first (almost literally) into repairing some leaking toilets and sinks. He also did prep work for the upcoming work crew like buying supplies, moving over 200 large bricks from one place to another (about 23 wheelbarrel trips), and bending some rebar. And I started working on some year-end reports for the PR government and GMI. Our week was both exciting and challenging!

Tomorrow (Sat, Feb 23), our first work crew comes. Even though they are coming in at 4:30 am, they are excited to start working so Sat will be a heavy work day for us. Our first project with the work crew will be to construct an entrance to our chapel. So on Saturday, we will be using a jackhammer to put 6 large holes into the concrete floor for the pillars to the entrance and we will be bending rebar. We will take before and after pictures to post so everyone can see exactly what we did.

We will try to update as often as possible (obviously that will be easier once we have our internet back)! Thanks for your prayers!
Love,
Mike and Megin

Today was the first day since being sick that we actually spent more than 15 minutes outside of our apartment! It was so uplifting to be able to get out, have fun, and be with people. We spent the whole day with Jon and Theresa Marshall and their family. We played games, ate (something other than soup and crackers), had a kickball tournament, and just hung out. I (Megin) was also able to get some laundry done which is done slightly different here. For starters, our washing machine is outside in our backyard and we have no dryer. To dry our clothes, we hang them out on the line and let the sun and wind do its job.

Today was an encouraging day for us! We are excited for this year!

For those who haven't noticed, we've posted our work crew schedule for the next 2 months. March is going to be a busy month for us with a lot of groups coming and overlapping. In addition to work crews, our job includes weekly and monthly staff meetings, maintenance, learning Spanish, accounting (for Megin) and so much more. So please remember to pray for us!

Also, thanks to all who prayed for us while we were sick! We really needed it and appreciated it! Thank you!

God bless you!

Love,

Mike and Megin

Here are some pictures of our apartment. It is small but it works. We have 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and our kitchen, livingroom, and dining room are combined. Since both of us are into entertainment, we turned our second bedroom into our entertainment/livingroom. We can't wait to make this place feel like home!
Also, we were feeling a little better today so we decided to go outside and spend some time on the beach which is our backyard. So here are some pictures.
