Our vacation adventures.....

~~ We took Rob and Cheryl to see some waterfalls near here that has a 50 foot cliff where you can jump into a beautiful lagoon below. Both Rob and Mike jumped while Cheryl and I enjoyed swimming in the cool, nice water.

~~ Our little adventure at Coffin Island began when big waves (due to a nearby tropical storm) flung Mike into some rocks while he was body surfing. Thank God it wasn't worse!

~~ One day, as we were getting ready to eat lunch, our beautiful sunny day suddenly turned dark and very windy and the ocean waves got really big. Then all of the sudden it started to downpour. Trying to figure out what was happening, we got online and checked the weather. We were experiencing what they called a "tropical wave" (who knows what that means). But within a half hour, the rain stopped, the winds died down, the ocean became calmer, the sun was back out, and the sky was crystal clear. It ended up being a very beautiful day! Weird!

~~ We found 2 Man-of-War jellyfish on our beach on two different days. One of which Mike kept in a bucket and fed hermit crabs to (after we talked him out of keeping it in our iguana pool).

~~ One day, we took our puppy, Mia, out for a walk on the beach (which is in our back yard). She had never seen the ocean before so she ran right out and chased a wave. Unfortunately, she got surprised by a bigger wave which knocked her over, rolled her, and began to pull her out to sea. Luckily, we were close enough to grab her but that was the end of her fun with the sea. She stayed far away from the water after that. However, this last week she has gotten braver and began going in the water again. In fact, by the end of our walk, she was going deep enough in the water that her legs and belly were completely wet.

~~ Rob and Cheryl blessed us by painting a wall in our living room for us! They changed it from a dark red to a beautiful light green. The room looks a lot brighter and more cheerful. They also painted our hallway. Our house looks so much better now!

We had a great vacation with Mike's parents these last couple of weeks! It was so nice, once again, to be surrounded by people who truly love us! (You can't imagine what its like to be without family and friends until you no longer have them near.) We laughed lots and had tons of fun! We relaxed, went sight-seeing, played games, and soaked up every minute of being with them. Plus, they gave us the gift of helping make our apartment feel more like a home. We are so thankful that they were able to come! What a blessing it was to us! Here are a few pictures from our vacation....

Our new puppy!

On Monday we got a new puppy. Her name is Mia (pronounced "me-a") which means "mine" in Spanish. She is a great new member to our family! We are really enjoying her!

Hi everyone! Sorry that its been a little while since we last updated... our Internet has been down for over a week and continues to have problems (so we are using a friend's). We can't post pictures but we will still fill you in on what's been happening.

Last Saturday, we had a multi-church, college-aged, all-day competition called the "Uni-Challenge". It started at 8am and went till 9pm. Different churches from around the area got together here at Camp and spent the entire day playing physical, team-building games in 90 degree heat. Mike and I joined an near-by church that we attend (John Cox's church). For those that know me (Megin), I am one of the least competitive people you will ever meet but even I had fun! It was a great experience and we are so glad that we could be part of it!

This last week Mike and his friend Julio have been collecting baby iguanas and making a home for them in our "green room" (which is a room we have in our house that has no ceiling on it and is completely open to the sky). We are now proud owners of 5 iguanas and one incredibly large frog! The green room went from having nothing but an old screen door in it to a complete habitat for the iguanas and frog. It now has a pool, 2 plants, a huge piece of drift wood that barely fits in the room, and a mud pit. We are really enjoying our iguanas!

Tomorrow we are traveling to San Juan (about 2 hours away on the north side of the Island) to look at Boxer puppies. We are hoping to have a new member of our family by tomorrow afternoon. We'll let you know what happens!

Thanks for your prayers and support! We love you all!

Love, Mike and Megin
